The project

Work Rural, farm-to-market and district roads, 4–6 m wide
Mix One standard asphalt concrete mix for most of the program
Daily need About 250–400 t on paving days
Site One central yard for a year or more
Budget Tight; the agency or contractor wants the lowest cost per ton

Why a drum mix plant fits

Need How the RMX-D60 answers it
Low purchase price No hot elevator, screen, hot bins or pugmill mixer
Low running cost Fewer wear parts; lower installed power (about 105 kW)
One standard mix Continuous production at a steady rate
Simple site Light foundations or trailer-mounted; small footprint
Small crew Simple controls; easy to train

The trade-off is flexibility: changing recipes is slower, and the mix follows the cold feed closely. That is why stockpile control is part of this solution.

Unit Specification
Plant RMX-D60, stationary or trailer-mounted
Cold feed Four bins with belt feeders and a weighing belt
Drum Single drum: drying zone, then mixing zone with bitumen and filler addition
Dust Baghouse (recommended near villages) or wet collector
Bitumen One heated tank, about 30 m³
Storage Finished-mix bin of about 4.5 m³, or a small silo
Power Grid via transformer or a generator sized above 105 kW with margin

Keeping quality steady

  1. Separate stockpiles for each aggregate size, on a hard, drained base
  2. Cover the sand and fines — they hold the most water
  3. Calibrate the feeders and weighing belt at start-up and regularly after
  4. Sample every shift for gradation and binder content
  5. Keep the feed steady — avoid frequent stops and starts

Production planning

Item Planning figure
Daily output about 360 t (60 t/h × 8 h × 75%)
Road paved per day about 0.6 km of a 5 m road at 5 cm, or about 1 km at 3 cm
Trucks (15–20 t) 3–5 depending on haul
Bitumen per day about 16–22 t

When to choose something else

If the program needs several mixes, or the specification requires batch weighing, look at the RMX-B60 or RMX-M60 batch plants. For help deciding, read when a drum mix plant is enough. Send us your program details.
